- 1. Introduciton -

Thank you for playing Ochiru Ishi! This is my third project using the Allegro library, and my first multi-person project. I have plans to make a sequel with lots of new features. Enjoy!

- 2. Controls -

The controls for Ochiru Ishi are very simple, in that it uses only the mouse. Here is a listing:

- Move the mouse pointer to aim.
- left-click to dash to the location of the mouse.
- right-click or press Esc to pause in-game.

- 3. Gameplay -

The object of the game is to dash to cut the falling blocks. If you hit a block while dashing, you will slice it in half. Hit mulitple blocks with a single dash to get a combo. Scoring goes as follows:

- 1 block: 10 points.
- 2 blocks: 40 points.
- 3 blocks: 90 points.
- 4 blocks: 160 points.
ect.

The timer is constantly counting down. If a block hits the ground, you lose five seconds off the timer. When the timer reaches zero, it's game over.

There are two kinds of special blocks in Ochiru Ishi:

- Time Blocks have an hourglass on them. They add to the timer based on your combo size.
- Score Blocks have a "!" mark on them. They apply a multiplier to your score based on your combo size.

In Ochiru Ishi, there are five stages: light, medium, heavy, intense, and ultimate. When you start a game, you automaticaly begin on light. For every 100 blocks cut, you will advance one stage. In later stages, the blocks fall and appear faster.
