System requirements
Haven't done any testing yet, but you will at least need an OpenGL compliant graphics card.
How to play the game
Lunar Strike is a mission-based third person space shoot-em-up. You fly your ship through a campaign with levels of increasing difficulty, while shooting
at enemies both in the air and on the ground. Each mission starts with a mission briefing. This briefing will reveal a part of the lame storyline and provide
you with a mission objective: one or several targets that must be destroyed. After each level you will see a mission debriefing which tells you whether you
achieved the objectives or not. If you didn't, you'll get the option to replay the level. Here, you will also recieve bonus points if you destroyed more
objective targets than required (this is only possible on some levels).
Weapons
There are many kinds of weapons available for your ship. These weapons can be given to you before starting a mission, or be picked up
on the battlefield.
- Machine gun: Your standard weapon. It doesn't do a lot of damage, but it's got a great rate of fire and cheap ammo.
- Laser gun: More effective than the machine gun. Faster shots that deal more damage.
- Triple gun: A formidable weapon that fires three machine gun bullets at a time. Great for large swarms of enemies.
- Light/Medium/Heavy Bombs: Drop them at ground targets and watch the fireworks.
- Air-to-air rockets: Highly explosive rockets that deal a tremendous amount of damage. Also capable of damaging several enemies at once.
- Air-to-surface rockets: Similar to air-to-air rockets, but for ground targets.
- Float mines: Mines that float in the air until an enemy hits them. Good to hide behind.
- Homing missiles: State-of-the-art smart weapons, these babies will find their way to the enemy.
- Plasma beam: Fires a plasma beam that will kill everything in its way.
- Cloaking device: Not really a weapon, but a useful gadget that will make you invisible for a short amount of time, preventing enemies to fire on you.
Controls
These are the default controls:
Move ship: Arrow keys.
Fire weapon: Space.
Next weapon: Alt.
Previous weapon: X key.
Pause game: P key.
Right now it's not possible to change these controls, but I might add that possibility in a later version.
