Welcome on board the SUPER XR 7000! This fully interplanetar space glider is the result of the latest innovative spacecraft technology. It is powered by twin high-performance in-house developed engines and equipped with 3 × InterDrive™ acceleration for fast and efficient space travel. It's heat shielding material gives yet unseen maneuverability in planetary reentry. An antigrav and the instable-design airframe gives you the best of superiority down in the atmospheres. Together with one of the best navigation computers, the SUPER XR 7000 will prove to be an outstanding craft in any scenario.

The command menu can be accessed with the TAB key. It will show up in the left portion of the screen. From there you can access sub menus by pressing the appropriate key. Everywhere you enter from the menu, there will always be a brief summary of what is possible there. For an in-depth discussion about a certain entry see the other sections of the manual. You can exit from the command menu at any stage pressing TAB again. Note that some of the keys listed above may not be available when the menu is active.

The cockpit of your SUPER XR 7000 consists of an instrument panel in the lower portion of the screen and a heads-up-display directly in the center of the screen. Most of the instruments are displayed only when the SUPER XR 7000 is on a planet.

The navigation computer of your SUPER XR 7000 is only accessible when you are on a planet. The naviation computer will help you to move to a specific location on the planet's surface. The navigation computer always chooses the shortest possible path from your current location to the selected location. Because you are traveling on a bent surface, your heading will change as you are following your path. Consider the following situation:
Suppose you are on a planet and want to travel from point a to point b. When starting at point a, the navigation computer will indicate that you have to head north-west to reach b. However, when you are already close to b, the navigation computer will indicate instead that you have to head west.
Once you have activated the navigation computer from the command menu, the instrument panel in your cockpit will show the navigation computer group. You can select a destination by setting latitude and longitude.
Once you have set your destination, the navigation computer will output the heading towards the destination in the bottom line of the navigation computer group in the instrument panel. In addition, the compass ruler of your heads-up-display will show a small circle at the heading that the navigation computer points to. In order to follow your path, you just have to keep that circle aligned with the vertical hand of the compass ruler.
When you are done with setting the destination, you can close the menu with the TAB key. The navigation computer will remain active so that you can continue following the path. If you want to get rid of the navigation computer completely, press C from the navigation computer menu.
Activation sequence: TAB - 2
The system map shows an overview of the solar system. You can see the actual position of the celestal bodies together with their orbits. The map is fully 3D. You can view the solar system from any angle and zoom in and out. While the map is active, the outside view is shrunk to a small window in the top left corner of the screen.
You can see the actual position of your SUPER XR 7000 as a yellow cross, or whatever you have set the HUD-color to. The map can either be centered about the sun or centered about your position.
You can quit the map by pressing TAB.
The SUPER XR 7000 comes with an instable-design airframe to give you the best of superiority within planetary atmospheres.
Your SUPER XR 7000 will effectively behave like a surfboard in the air: The least drag is encountered for axial movement, sideways movement is much more expensive. You can experience this behaviour best when moving vertical with use of the antigrav. If your nose points to the surface, vertical movement will be much easier compared to if you were leveled with the horizon.
When flying in a planet's atmosphere you will expericence a torque if your SUPER XR 7000 is not level, but rolled to either side. This torque is as stronger as higher your velocity is. If your velocity is very high, for instance when you are falling from outer space, you may enter a serious spin. In addition, when you are moving in an atmosphere, you will experience a resistance against turning maneuvers (yaw or pitch) when moving at high speeds. Also, tight turning will reduce your velocity.
When moving in an air-free environment, you will experience skidding, ie. that you can face a different direction than you are moving into. You can manually compensate a skid if you accelerate into the opposite direction than you are currently moving.
The antigrav gives the possibility to stand in the air and do vertical landings and liftoffs. The antigrav will automatically start to assist if the lift of the wings is insufficient thus preventing a stall. You can do vertical maneuvers using the antigrav by holding down the left CTRL-key and moving the mouse up/down. Note that the thrust that the antigrav can do is linked to the gravitational force that you are exposed. That means that the effect of the antigrav is maximal when you are close to the planet's surface. Also, the antigrav will give little thrust on planets with little gravitation.
The InterDrive™ provides fast and efficent means for interplanetary travel. In other words the InterDrive™ will make you fast as hell. Press D to engage/disegage the InterDrive™. While the InterDrive™ is active, your velocity increases continously. Switch off the InterDrive™ early, because you will have a long roll off afterwards.
Your SUPER XR 7000 may be equipped with an infra-red camera. Press I to activate/deactivate the infra-red camera. The infra-red camera will give you an image of the heat radiation. Note that close to the sun the camera will be useless due to overexposure. The infra-red camera can give a slightly better view through thick atmospheres. On the downside, due to it's nature, the infrared-camera suffers from motion-blurring.
Planetfall is not an easy maneuver. When coming from outer space, the SUPER XR 7000 will have a relatively high velocity, which will decelerate by magnitudes upon entering a planet's atmosphere.
