- Space -
Note: This game uses processor-intensive software rendering and is not very playable on any computer less than 400 MHz.  Run on at least an 800 MHz processor to get good framerates.

Use arrow keys to move and Control to fire.
Shoot enemies, grab the health they sometimes leave.
Levels 1 through 3 are finished (except level 3 boss).

H item: Restore health to 20.
W item: Weapon upgrade; some variety of weapons, limited by the current level.
N item: Instantaneous, full-screen nuke.
S item: Shield bubble, limited to one shield, does not restore health.

To do: Special weapons, rest of weapons.

- Versions -
space.exe: DOS/DPMI.  Software Rendered.  Requires 32 megs RAM.
dxspace.exe: Windows DirectX.  Software Rendered.  Requires 32 megs RAM and DirectX.
glspace.exe: Windows OpenGL.  Hardware Accelerated.
  Requires video card and OpenGL drivers (www.glsetup.com).
  32-bit rendering only (otherwise will quit with error 'Couldn't make Rendering Context')
  Requires DirectSound for sound playback.

- Known Bugs (Please do not report these) -
DOS Version:
  Sound playback is bad/nonexistant on some sound cards.  This can't be fixed.
  Left/right speaker panning is sometimes flipped.
  Crashes on exit for some computers.
Windows/DirectX Version:
  Doesn't work on Win2K for some reason.
  Allegro's panning code is wrong.
OpenGL Version:
  Requires at least 2048x512 texture size support.  (Bright white background otherwise)
  Colors for background texture aren't perfect yet.
  16 bit color is chosen last because dithering doesn't work yet.
  Triple-buffering enabled video cards may cause flicker when changing screens.
  As background music restarts, WinNT may hang for a few seconds.
All Versions:
  Bubble shield doesn't track ship fast enough in low framerates.
  There is a horizontal seam in the background texture.
