Instructions
~~~~~~~~~~~~
The aim of this game is to collect the tokens (eg. diamonds, roses, smiley
faces). However, movable and solid blocks are in your way. You must push the
moveable blocks around to get to the tokens. However, you cannot push two
blocks which are side by side.
Also, monsters must be avoided. They hurt you.
You may spot some discoloured tiles. When you walk on these and then step off
them, a solid block will form behind you, blocking your way back.
There are also switches and doors in the game. The switches appear as blue,
red or green squares. Their corresponding doors are of the same colour. To
open a door, you must stand on the switches or push a block on top of them.
If there is more than one switch of a certain colour (eg, 2 or more blue
switches) then all the switches must be activated before the corresponding
doors open.
F.A.Q.
~~~~~~
Q. I can't hear any sound. Whats the problem??
A. The soundcard is automatically detected by Blocks. Make sure the volume is
   turned up on your soundcard and in the game (use the gray + and - keys on
   the keypad).

Q. Why don't I start the game on level 1? And why does the game sometimes skip
   levels?
A. Blocks automatically keeps a record of the levels which you have completed.
   When you start a game or finish a level, Blocks will jump to the next level
   which you have not completed yet.

   This record is kept on the file LEVC. To reset all the levels to
   'uncompleted', run RESET.BAT. This will delete the LEVC file and replace
   it with an empty file.

Q. How to I see which levels I have completed?
A. In the blue menu which you can access by pressing ESC during the game,
   there is a LEVEL option. This is where you can select the level you wish to
   play. You will notice that COMPLETED!!! is written in the bottom right hand
   corner of the levels which have been previously completed.

Q. Is there a quick way to exit the game?
A. Yep. Press F1 and F2 at the same time.

Q. Blocks is too hard!!! Are there any cheats??
A. Yep. E-mail me at
   z2210638@student.unsw.edu.au
   and I will send them to you.

Q. Wow, this game is great! What programs, compilers and libraries did you use
   to create it?
A. Blocks was created using DJGPP and ALLEGRO. The graphics were drawn using
   Paintbrush for Windows, Neopaint, Infinity Textures and Buttonz and Tilez.

Q. Where can I get updated versions of Blocks?
A. You can get the updated versions at the Amateur Game Programming site:

   http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Hardware/3226/home.html

   There are also lots of hints and tips on programming games using DJGPP and
   allegro + other games to download too.
