4- Requirements
----------------

You need this for playing Tetris Unlimited:

- DirectX 7
- A video card capable of doing 640x480 high color (15, 16, 24 or 32 bpp)
- Pentium processor (Pentium II 266 recommended)

5- Starting
------------

The first time you run the game the config program will automatically launch.
The first thing you may want to change is the language.

After launching the game you can create a character. All scores and statistics
will be recorded when you play with your character. Since version 0.5.0 it's
possible to play as an anonymous player.

To start a game just go to 'new game' and select the game mode you wish to
play. Change the game options you want and click the start button.

For all of you who haven't played ever a Tetris game, I'll explain the rules
now, so skip this section if you already know:

Pieces will be thrown from the top of the board. You can do 3 actions: move
them left or right, rotate them or make them go down faster. When the piece
hits something solid, it's positioned there. In this moment, if there's one
horizontal line full, it's removed from the game, everything over it goes down
and you win more points. If you break more than one line at the same time
you'll get extra points. Breaking two lines is called 'double', breaking three
is called 'triple' and breaking four is called 'Tetris'. If you put a piece
over the red area, it's game over.

6- User's manual
-----------------

*NOTE: The player file format may change in some versions. If that's the case,
newer versions will be able to load older players.inf files, and convert them
to the new version, but this does NOT apply to exported player files, which
will only load the same version (not older nor newer). For example, player
file format has changed in version 0.3.0. This means that you should be able
to play with the players created with previous versions, but you won't be
able to import players exported with previous versions.

Update: players file format hasn't changed in version 0.5.0, so you'll be able
to import players exported with version 0.3.0

Here I explain things that aren't very intuitive in the game and need
further explanation.

First note that the mouse only runs on the main menu and game options screen.
The rest of the GUI is temporal and doesn't have mouse support.

  Other controls:
  ----------------

- P: pause
- ESC: exit

  Main menu:
  -----------
- Up/Down/Move the mouse: change selection
- INTRO/Left Click: Enter the menu
- ESC/Right click: Back

  Game end screen:
  -----------------
- ENTER: exit

  Player statistics screen
  -------------------------

- Up/Down: Select player
- INTRO: view detailed info
- ESC: back to main menu

At the detailed info view screen:

- Up/Down: Change player
- Left/Right: View more statistics
- INTRO/ESC: back to statistics screen

  Music screen
  -------------

- Up/Down: change selection
- PagUp/PageDown: change selection page to page
- INTRO: Play
- Spacebar: Pause/No pause
- Left/Right: Change top-right viewer screen
- ESC: return to main menu

  Piece editor
  -------------

Normal piece mode:
- Cursors: move cursor
- Z/X: change tile
- ESC: menu
- INTRO: enter rotated piece edition mode

rotated piece edition mode:
- Z/X: Select rotated piece
- Cursors: move the rotated version selected
- INTRO: back to normal piece mode

Probabilities editor:
- Up/Down: Select piece
- Left/Right: Change probability
- ESC: back to piece editor
Note: in this version the probabilities aren't taken into account in the
game: every piece have the same probability, not matter what you put
        here

7- Customisation
-----------------

You can change the directories different files are in editing the tetris.cfg
file, or using the config program.

Add music:
To make your own music archives, you should use the mgrabber utility (new in version
0.3) It's a preliminary version, so it's pretty limited. You can't load datafiles.
To add music simply use the menus and select the files to add (msica->aadir). Keep
in mind that you won't be able to load a lot of files at the same time, because of a
  windows limitation.
The other way to add files (recommended) is to drag an drop files from the explorer
to mgrabber. mgrabber will detect the files types through the extension. Only valid
  files will be added.
You can also change the song names, by default a number. Simply select a song and
  click on its name.

*NOTE: the datafile music format has changed in version 0.3.0, so the game won't be
able to load files created with previous versions. If you have archives created with
0.1 or 0.2 you must make all the files again.

Add background:
Simply copy bmp, png, tga, lbm og jpg graphic files in the background dir (by
default 'fondos'). The images must be true color (15, 16, or 24 bpp). The
size can be anything, but if you like the image fit the screen it should be
640x480, in other case the image would be centred, and if the image is
smaller than this the part the image doesn't cover will be black.

Starting from version 0.5.0 you can put images in subfolders inside the
  backgrounds folder.

Add piece graphics (only for Allegro users, needs Grabber):
You have to make a 20*n width and 20 height image, where n is the number of
tiles. You must make a dat file with two objects. The first one must be of
type TEXT and you must grab a file that contains the graphics name. The
second object must contain the bitmap you created. The object name doesn't
  matter, but yes the position.
